3 Events Hindu Wedding Held in Prague

We started to plan a wedding of Moumita and Lee in the late summer of 2019 with our initial plan of it in May 2020. Unfortunately, just right before the wedding the world Covid – 19 pandemic has started so we needed to re-plan it all because in that time it was not possible to even enter the Czech Republic. And unfortunately the same happened in 2021. But finally, after 2,5 years of planning we realized it June 2022. You can imagine how stressful and desperate it had to be for our wedding couple but we think that thanks to that they enjoyed it even more.

First event of our 2 day Indian wedding was a welcoming party with henna painting. We chose a beautiful venue for it, which is located just next to the Vltava River in the city center of Prague called Art Restaurant Mánes. Its pretty spacious so there was enough space for everything – henna painting, rounded tables, buffet and also a stage space for the guest performances. All of the guests came in beautiful and colorful Indian clothes, which made the atmosphere really unique.

Second event was a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. For that we had to choose a venue, which would allow us an open fire which is essential for the traditional Indian wedding ceremonies so that gave us a bit limited options but the final choice of The Grand Mark Prague fit us perfectly with its beautiful garden. The celebrations started with a baraat when the groom with his party were dancing and playing music from the Municipal House to The Grand Mark Hotel. After that, our Hindu priest who travelled from UK for this wedding managed the wedding ceremony within 1,5 hour and then the guests enjoyed a tasty, mostly vegetarian and also a little bit Indian flavor buffet.

The last event was held in a beautiful vineyard venue called Salabka. Its located in further center of Prague so it allows a perfect privacy and thanks to its Michelin award it provides also a delicious gastronomy. Here we planned a classic wedding ceremony when the bride had a white dress and groom wore a suit. During this ceremony they exchanged their vows, which we must say were one of the nicest we have ever heard. It was held in the same day as the Hindu wedding ceremony so the time schedule was pretty tight but in the end we all made it with no problems, especially thanks to the guests who were always on time. This very festive day was finished by a bridal most awaited moment – a cake cutting and of course, by a party.

As with our previous Hindu wedding it was again an unforgettable wedding full of colorful clothes, traditions, kind and heart people, good mood and moreover, we were so lucky with the weather. We are so grateful that Moumita and Lee choose us for planning their wonderful destination Hindu wedding here in Prague all the best in their future life together!
